Three people died in a Memorial Day collision between a motorcycle and a car south of Girdwood, according to Anchorage police.

Officers responded about 4 p.m. to calls about the crash, near Mile 80 on the Seward Highway between Girdwood and Portage, police said in a post on Facebook.
They found a Subaru Crosstrek engulfed in flames, police said. Ultimately, the Subaru’s driver, a passenger and the motorcyclist were declared dead.

None of those who died had been publicly identified as of Wednesday.
The crash closed the highway for about seven hours.
The Anchorage Police Department’s Major Collision Investigation Unit continues to investigate the crash.
