{"id":187,"date":"2026-05-27T21:35:34","date_gmt":"2026-05-27T21:35:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alaskamovingnetwork.com\/?p=187"},"modified":"2026-05-27T21:35:34","modified_gmt":"2026-05-27T21:35:34","slug":"faa-proposes-165k-fine-for-alaska-airlines-over-drunk-passengers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alaskamovingnetwork.com\/?p=187","title":{"rendered":"FAA proposes $165K fine for Alaska Airlines over drunk passengers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The Federal Aviation Association has proposed a $165,000 civil penalty against Alaska Airlines for allegedly allowing intoxicated passengers to board its flights.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/alaskamovingnetwork.com\/?p=185\">Proposed Alaska gas pipeline has a narrow window of viability, estimates suggest<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Federal regulations prohibit airlines from allowing anyone who appears to be intoxicated to board an aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Alaska Airlines allegedly allowed intoxicated passengers to board flights 11 times between February 2024 and February 2025, the FAA said in a <u>press release<\/u> Tuesday. <\/p>\n<p>In a statement, a spokesperson for the airline said it had fully participated in an FAA audit that investigated policies and practices related to intoxicated guests on board its aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>Read more <a href=\"https:\/\/alaskamovingnetwork.com\/?p=183\">Nome\u2019s first Bike Bus tests new way to get students to school<\/a><\/p>\n<p>As a result, Alaska Airlines made \u201cmeaningful changes,\u201d including enhanced training for flight attendants and customer service agents, the airline said in its statement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe respect the results of the FAA\u2019s audit and are confident in the changes that have been in place for the last year to ensure our shared standards are being met,\u201d the statement said.<\/p>\n<p>Alaska Airlines has several options in responding to the notice, including disputing the fine, the FAA said in an email.
